SOsec. i TARANAKI JOCKEY CLUB. • Tim Taranaki Jockey Club Metropolitan Committee met last night, Mr. Lepper being in the chair. There were also present: Messrs. R. \V. Sole, F. Orbell, L. B. Webster, W. Weston and E. Elliott. The Stratford Racing Club's programme for January Ist and 2nd was passed. Trainers' licenses were issued to Thos. Pine, W. MeConkey and John Morville. Jockeys' licenses were issued to C. Pearce, J. Mcintosh, J. H. Kendall, T. Jones, E. George, R. Gilbert, F. J. Johnson and P. Willis. Licenses to gentlemen riders were issued to George E. Clout and D. Shield. The general committee subsequently met and correspondence was read from Messrs. TurnbuH and Joues in reference to the silent totaJisator to be installed. Messrs. Grayling and Cliff's tender was accepted for alterations to the tatalisator.jiouse. It was resolved to circularise the licensed victuallers of New Plymouth for tenders for booth and for the season. The catering was left in the hands of. the chairman and secretary. Accounts totalling £l3 14s 7d were passed for payment. Several improvements are to be carried out to the course under the supervision of the course committee, including the erection of a housing shed.
