TWO COTTAGES DESTROYED. By Telegraph—Presi Aswitition. Gisborne, Monday. Tires destroyed a cottage owned' by Whinray and occupied by Ryan, insured for £l5O in the Standard Office, and another owned .by Tatley, of Auckland, unoccupied. The insurance of the latter is not available. OUTBREAK AT OHAU. Levin, Monday. On Saturday night a fire broke out at Ohau in a house owned and occupied by an old settler, W. Corner. He went 1 to the railway statioli, leaving a firealight, and by the time he returned everything was destroyed. The furniture was insured lor £2OO aud the building for £3OO in the Norwich Office. IFIRE AT PATEA MEAT WORKS. A Are which might have been attended with disastrous consequences to the Patea 'Farmers' Co-operaitive FreezingCo. broke out in the early hours of Saturday morning', and resulted in some £2OO worth of damage being done before Tt was finally subdued.
