SAUNTERS' BIOCRAPH PICTURES. Saturday's new programme «t thispopular picture house was well worthy of the management's excellent reputation as caterers in this kind. The American biograph pictures are always striking and well composed, but "An Arcadian Maid" merits a word of special praise. It is perfectly acted, perfectly posed, and perfectly photographed; the pictures are absolutely without blemish, and (apart from the difficult Shatter of color) it seems impossible that the skill of the einomatographer can go much farther. A thrilling drama "by the Kalem Co., "The Carrier Pigeon,"' introduces a. beautiful and fascinating young girl amongst a loft of pet pigeon's, one of the latter .proving the pivot on which the whole charming and exciting story revolves. The scenery of San Guilina is shown in a very clear series of views around the salt mines of Sicily. A striding Kdison 111 m is "How Bella was won," from "Our mutual friend," by Chas. Dickens. The film tells simply and clearly how John Harman, under "an assumed name, wooed and won that delightful little piece of femininity, Bella Welfer, ■universally recognised as the best girl type that the great novelist ever portrayed. It is an interesting story, with a littlle sensation, much comedy, and a good bit of pathos. There are other comic pictures, other dramatic pictures, and some admiraiblo scenic views. The full programme will be on view again to-night and to-morrow night.
