FEDERAL PARLIAMENT. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne. October 14. ■ Federal House passed the Transcontinental Railway Bill. Mr. Tudor, in moving the second reading of the Seamen's Compensation Bill, said that the measure was similar to that passed last session, excepting that the Government had taken the power denied by the High Court, to deal with inter-State trade. In the Senate the Government was further lieckled over the independent cable service. Mr. Chatway described the news sent as grotesque and absolute rubbish.
