MANAWATU .LADIES' TOURNAMENT. I By Telegraph— Press Association. Palmerston N., Last Night. A high wind and driving rain prevailed to-day, when the Manawatu ladies* open golf tournament was concluded. In the semi-finals of the championship, •Mrs. Ouy Williams boat Miss Pearce, 4 and 3, and Miss Gorrie beat Miss Gould, - up. The final between Mrs. Williams and Miss G. Gorrie commenced after lunch, and in spite of the weather both played good golf. The match ended, in favor of Mrs. Williams, by 3 and 2. The Consolation Match was .won bv Miss Carter and Miss Hamlin, with 81." Muss Humphreys won the putting competition.
NGAMOTU CLUB. This afternoon a mixed foursomes match will be played on the Ngamotu hulks for prizes donated bv Messrs. E T. Morshead and K. P. Webster.
