1 NEW PLYMOUTH CLUB. iTliii eighth annual meeting of the New Plymouth Swimming Chvb Avas held in the Town Hall last night, Mr. H. Stooker presiding over a large attendance of memhers. The report was presented as follows: The committee congratulates the members on the success achieved during the season.' The balance in hand at the beginning of last season was 12s fid, and there were outstanding accounts amounting to Ids Od, so the club really started with a debit balance of (is. The present credit balance was ill lis. and there were no outstanding accounts, showing a substantial improvement on the financial position for the season's working. The standard of swimming showed a 'decided 'improvement on former years, this being especially noticeable among the boys ami • girls. The polo championship wa.s wort by the Beachcombers. The open liiile championship was won by E. Pfanlaich for the second year in 'succession." The club's representatives were successful ! in winning the polo and relay events at'' the West> Coast championship meeting at Hawera. Your, committee also wishes to express their thanks to Mr. Liritif for the able assistance rendered by "him' as handicapper, starter and referee,' also to Mr. Morris for his ever j ready assistance on all occasions, and to I all others who assisted the club. They 1 deeply'regretted the severe loss that the I club had sustained through the loss of their", vice-president, Mr. G. Ti'sch, and wished to express their deepest sympathy with Mrs. Tisch in her sad bereavement. They also regretted the loss of several prbmindht: 'members who have left the town, notaibly their former secretary, Mr. l)ixon,.a'rfd 'their chub captain, Mr. Turn'bull.'':..
