MAKAWATU LADTES' TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—Preas Aieociation. Palmerston ST., Last Xight. A high wind anil driving rain prevailed to-day, when the Manawatu hulies' open golf tournament was concluded. Tn the senii-fiiials of the championship Mrs. Ouy Williams beat Miss Pearce, 4 a.iid -i. and MiGorric heat Miss Go-uld, 2 up. The final between Mrs. Williams and Miss G. Gorrie commenced after lunch, and in spite of the weather both played good golf. The match ended, in favor of Mrs. Williams, by 3 and 2. The Consolation Match was won. by Miss Garter and 'Miss Hamlin, with 81. Miiss Humphreys won tile putting competition. KGAMOTU CLUB. This afternoon a mixed foursomes 1 match will lie played on the JJgamolu I liniks for prizes donated bv Messrs. E { T. Morsllead and 15. P. Webster.
