) Xi:\Y PLYMOUTH Cl.l'll. !Tlie eighth annual meeting of the Xcw Plymouth Swimming Olitb Mas held iu the Town Hall last night, Mr. 11. Stoaker presiding over a large attendance of , members. The report was presented as follows: The committee congratulates the members oil the success achieved during the season. The l>alance in hand at the beginning of last sea.-on wa« l"s (id, and there were outstanding accounts amounting to lils (id, so the club really started with a debit balance of lis. The present credit balance was .€4 lis. and there ■were no outstanding accounts, showing a sub.-taiitial improvement on the linanoial position for the season's working. The standard of swimming showed a decided 'improvement on former years, this being especially noticeable among the boys and ■ girls. The polo championship was wltrt bv the Beachcombers. The opeli mile £hampioiiisliip was won by E. Pfaiiikueh for the second year in 'succession.' The club's representatives were successful 'ill Avirming the polo and relay events nt" the Wcsti Coast championship meeting at Hawera. Your, committee also wishes to express their thanks to Mr. Liiits for the able assistance rendered by liiiii as httndicapper, starter and I refeiee, 1 also to M'r. Morris for bis ever I ready assistance on all occasions, and to | all others who assisted the cluib. They 1 deeply H'egretted the severe loss that the I club had sustained through the lass of tlredr 1 vice-president, Mr. G. Ti'seh, and wished to express their deepest sympathy \vitlr Mrs.'Tisch in her sad bereavement. They also regretted the loss of several promili<!tit 'members who have left the tmVtt, notaibly their former secretary, Mr. Dixon.,"arid 'their chib captain, Mr. Turn'bull.'...
