MAXAWATU LA.DTES' CHAMPIONSHIPS. By Telegraph—Press Association, Palmerston N., Last Night. The Manaiwatu ladies' open golf championship meeting was continued to-day in wet weather. 'ln the second round of the championship Mrs. Williams beat Miss McLean, 0 and 5; Miss A. Pearce beat Miss Moore, C, and 5; Miss Gould beat Miss Wilson, 5 and 3; Miss Gorrie beat Miss Cowiper, 6 and 5. The bogey maitch was won by Mrs. L. Seifert, of Manawatu (handicap 10), 3 up; Mfiss G. Gorrie, Auckland (<S), 1 up; Mrs. Strang, Manawatu, all square; Miss Wray, Manawatu, 1 down. Miss Wray put in the best card (85), and Miss A. Pearce, Miss Gould and Mrs. Williams each returned cards of 87. Miss Pearce's card included two penalty strokes through hitting a flag stick -from within penalty distance. The four-ball match was won by Mrs. Mcßae (14) and Miss Moore (14),'5 up; Miss G. Gorrie (5) and Miss Humphreys (8) 4 up; Mrs. Williams (2) and Mrs. Abraham (12), 3 up. The semi-finals and the .final of the championship will be played to-day.
