Revolt in China.
AOAIXKTIMANCHU DOMINATION. . REBELS' .SUCCESS. FOREIGNERS IX DANGER. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Pekin, October 11. The revolutionists at Wuchang have issued a proclamation threatening to decapitate anybody injuring foreigners. The present movement is directed agai ; nst iMunchu domination. The rebels in Szzechuan have captured Kiating and Vaohowfa. Young china revolutionaries set fire to the Wuchang Viceroy's yamen, which was destroyed. Fighting continues, but foreigners are safe. Volunteers at Hankow are standing to arms day and night. The foreign Consuls have telegraphed for further assistance. Japanese and American cruisers are expected, and other gunboats are hurrying there. European women and children arc taking refuge on river boats.
PROVINCIAL TROOPS MUTINY. IN POSSESSION OF WUCHANG. ALL THE PUBLIC BUILDINGS BURNT. REBELS ENVELOPLNG A PROVINCE. GOVERNMENT TROOPS FLEEIXG. Received 12, 9.25 p.m. Pekin, October 12. Following the decapitation of three troopers at Wuchang, all the provincial troops mutinied, and arc now in possession of the town. All the yamens, including the Treasury, have been burnt. The Viceroy refuged on a Chinese gunboat. General Changpas was killed by a bomb. He was one of the ablest officers in the Chinese Army. Documents show that the revolutionists intended to make Bupeh the base, and thence envelope the Yangtse province. The Taotai requested the Consuls to instruct the foreign warships to guard the harbor. The Viceroy urgently appealed to the authorities to despatch the Tientsin division. The Consuls at Hankow refused a request to patrol the river. The revolutionists have written "requesting the Consuls to observe neutrality. The rebels attacked the local troops, who are fleeing towards Hankow. It is feared that chaos will follow the destruction of the Treasury, which supplied Wuchang, Hankow and Hangyang with notes.
