"PIRATES OF PENZANCE." The New 'Plymouth Operatic Soniotjy certainly Reserved better weather thaii that which greeted them last night for their second .performance of the "Pirates of Penzance." The merits of the piecn would have drawn a bumper house, as nothing 'but praise was 'bestowed on the opening night's performance. Notwithstanding the unfavorable elements, a very good audience greeted them. Tim performance was even better than on the first night, as the performers naturally lind gained confidence, «nd, ns a result, less stiffness wns noticeaNe. the wholo going with a fine swing. The audiencn was very appreciative, and most of thn musical numbers and choruses were encored. Miss Buokman was the recipient of several bouquets. The stage management was again 'all that could be desired, Mr. T. Trebileo having valuable assistance from Mr. H. Brooks. The society will probably stage the piece again in a few weeks' time. They have also received woucsts to visit Elbham anil Stratford. These will probably be accepted.
