Mutton, fine 3Ss Od, medium :15s; beef, fine 30s 3d, medium 33s Od. Silver, 24 5-10 d. AMERICAN WHEAT SUPPLY. Ivondon, October 11. The visible American wheat supply is 74,595,000 bushels. NOLAN AND CO.'S REPORT. Poultry—On Saturday we had a good entry. There is an unsatisfied demand for all classes of .birds, and high prices were realised throughout. We quote:— Hens, 2s Id to 2s 7d; cockerels, 2s 2d to 2s 7d; roosters, 2s Id to 2s 7d; chickens, Od; ducks, 2s 0d to 3s 9d; ducklings, Od to Is 4d; broods, Ss Od to 9s; trio Brown Leghorns, 15s. In the mart we quitted a large quantity of useful furniture and sundries. Fruit.—The market has been quiet during the past week. Any lines offering have sold well. We quote:—Apples, Nelson Washingtons, 10s Od to lis; American, 13s ild to 15s Od; oranges, Island, lis Od to 15s; bananas, green, 9s Od to 10s 3d.
WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday we had our usual good entry, and those who sent birds in were amply repaid by the high prices ruling. Owners would do well to market their .birds durin.'j the next few weeks, as we have an unsatisfied demand for all classes of poultry. Prices realised were as follows: liens, laying White Leghorns, 3s to 3s 3d; others, 2s to 2s 10(1; cockerels, 2s Id to 2s 7d; ducklings, 8d to Is 7d. according to age; trio Pelrin ducks, 12s; trio Black Orpingtons, 21s: broody hen, 3s fld. In the jnart the usual line of auction sundries were disposed of ait satisfactory prices.
On Monday, at the Criterion Motor Garage, under distress warrant and hill of sale, we sold all the fittings, 'etc., contained in the garage. Bidding was spirited throughout and the articles offered met with keen competition. "Fruit.--This has been in short supply during 4he week, apples and lemons being the only fruit, on hand. We quote: Bananas, ripe. 2 1 / 2 <l; oranges, repacks, 10s Od; Sydney oranges, <)s Od; mandarins, 13s; lemons, Ss; apples. Stunners, 14s 3d; Washington?, l'ls Od to 12s; walnuts per Hi 3d.
PRODUCE REPORT. ■Messrs. K. Griffiths and Co. are in receipt of the' following market report from their London principals, Messrs. Mills ami Sparrow, dated September 1, 19-11: There. have been no general rains in England during the past week, -but there have 'been a few thunder showers. Taking the country as a whole it is yery dry and badly in want of rain. Danish.—The quotations- have been reduced six kroners, although the quantity arriving is only 31,030 casks, a,s against 35.001 casks four weeks ago. Siberian.—Prices are very irregular, and some butters to hand this week are indifferent as to quality. The arrivals this week are very small, being only 0450 casks, whereius four weeks ago they totalled up to 20,859. French.—'Prices have been again reduced on both rolls and baskets, as buyers refused to follow' the advance or give the extreme prices which were asked.
Australian. —Buyers are looking for and enquiring for the new butters. A few will be arriving next week, and we are confident that these will be readily sold at full rates. The quality of the few lots which -are left over in cold store not being all that can be desired or wished, these have now been picked over and the best sold. New Zealand.—There is no trade passing, except for forward delivery, and quite a. few sales have been put through at from 114s Od to 115s fld c.i.f. CHEESE.
Cheese is in good demand, and shows a further advance of Is to 2s.
