WOOL SALES. London. October 10. ' The wool scales have closed with prices firm nn<[ unchanged. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington. V csterdav. The following cablegram lias been received from the High Commissioner, under date London. October 10, regarding the closing the fifth series of colonial wool sales: '■ The wool sales have closed with fair demand for all qualities at present market value. Americans are not buying. Trade is good, and manufacturers are busy. and the prospects are favorable at a reasonable price, provided no further political complications arise on the Continent. Nineteen thousand bales of Xew Zealand wool were held over. The estimated values were as follows: Superior merino 11'/.(I to Is Id, medium merino f)'/;4 1 Id. inferior merino 7',<.(! to !)d. fine crossbreds (all grades) lid to la Id, medium crossbred** 8d to I'OVL-d, cOavse, erossbreds 7d to MM."
