XE TEMERE DECREE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Christehurch, Last Night. At the Christehurch Presbytery to#ay, ariving out of a report submitted on the question of Sabbath observance, the Presbytery decided to form a branch of the Sabbath Alliance and to hold a Presbyterian conference on- the'subject in February next. An overture to the General Assembly on the ''X'e temere" decree on mixed marriages was.agreed to. The overture, inter alia, asks" the Government to take such measures as are necessary to deal with the position which has arising owing to the promulgation of the decree in Xew Zealand.

NEW SCHOOL FOR TIMARU. Timaru, Last Night. The Education Board to-day favored the purchase of a site for a 'school on the east side of the town. This makes four public primary schools within the borough.

DRAINAGE MEN'S TROUBLE ENDED. Auckland, Last Night. The trouble between the men employed on the Onehunga drainage works and the contractor has terminated, the contractor having agreed to the men's demands, namely .is per shift on al! days for tide work, shifts not to exceed two hours.
