Reeby and C'annichael were present at the riile shooting, which was conducted in the rain and in a tricky wind. In the Referee Match, ten shots each at six hundred ami seven hundred yards. Private Loveday, of Woodville. New Zealand, and Private Shaw, of Melbourne, each scored 92. Loveday led at the longer range, and was awarded the cash iprize. In the shoot-off for the trophy rifle, .lames, of Napier, put on 87 and C'hing, of Lyttelton. 80. Each won £2.
