ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES
DEATH UNDER CHLOROFORM. By Telegraph—Press Aswintion. Wellington, Last Night. Mrs. Sing, wife of Kem Sing, Chinese fruiterer in Frederick street, died in Wellington hospital at 1 o'clock this after, noon. She was put under an anesthetic by Drs. Woodhou.se and 11. J. McLean for purposes of examination, and expired. Deceased was a half-caste Chinese woman, born in New Zealand. CRUSHED BY A DOOR. Gisborne, Last Night. A man named Charles Phillips, of middle age, while working on the erection of a new stable to-day, was attempting to move a large sliding door, when it, came off its rollers and fell on him. Four men were required to lift the door off Phillips, who was conveyed to the hospital suffering great agony. On examination the doctor said there was every evidence of a serious fracture of the spine, and the man i| in a very critical condition.
A CHILD KILLED. Auckland, Last Night. A three-year-old boy named Dudley Cooper fell over a cliff overlooking the harbor at th>> foot of New street, Ponsonby, this afternoon. He received injuries from which he died' this evening. The cliff is over 40 feet high.
