AUSTRALIAN FRUIT
DISHONEST PRACTICES. By Cable —Press Association—Copyright. Sydney. October (I. A deputation of the Fruit-growers' Union waited on Mr. Treile and protested against the new regulation requiring 10 per cent, of the fruit shipped for Xew Zealand to be tipped out for inspection, on the ground that it, damaged the fruit. The deputation asked for a reversion to the old system. Mr. Treile said the whole trouble had arisen from the careless system of despatching fruit to Xew Zealand. He promised to see if it was possible to revert to the old method, with modifications.
