RESCUING IMPRISONED MINERS. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane. October 4. A straight shaft in the Marshall's Queen mine. Charters Towers, collapsed and imprisoned four miners. The only communication with them is by the five hundred feet rise from the Boiinie Dundee mine. The staff is building fifty ladders, each ten feet long, and it is expected that a rescue will be effected to-day. SHIPMENT OF COPRA TWICE SHIP. WRECKED. Sydney. October 4. The copra cargo of the Taviuni is being discharged. It is not thought that it is seriously damaged by the immersion. The copra portion of the cargo was salved from the wreck of the Knight of St. George at Nukualofa.
