PRACTICAL TEACHING.
A CAMP TOR SCHOLARS. By Telegraph—Press Association. Fcilding, Yesterday. By wav of teaching practical agriculture the Wanganui Education Board has arranged a week's camp for High School hoys. The camp, which is the first of its kind in New Zealand, is now being held at Mr. E. Short's stud farm at Cheltenham, and thirty-six hoys from Wang anui, 'Marton, Taihape and Fcilding are present. Yesterday Mr. .T. Punlop, manager of the stud farm, gave the hoys a practical demonstration of the good points of horses and cattle, and other valuable lectures are to follow. The boys will do the actual work of the farm during the week. Mr. Pirani (chairman) and Messrs. Purnell and Outline, M.P., members of the board, and Mr. Braik (chief inspector) have paid an official visit to the camp. Mr. James firant. agricultural supervisor for the Wanganui Education Board, is in charge.
