LADIES' CHAMPIONSHIP MEETING. SECOND HOUND. I!y Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Ideal weather prevailed for the continuation of the New Zealand ladies' golf championship meeting at Here- 1 taunga. the sun shining brightly, while there, was an almost total absence of wind. A great deal of work had 'been done to the course ami the greens, which were in faultless order. There was a considerable, gathering of spectators, and most of these followed the match between Miss A. Pearce and Miss G. Gorrie, the Wellington and Auckland champions. This was expected to prove a very wen struggle, but Miss -Gorrie, playing much below her best form, was easily 'beaten, Miss Pearec giving a fine exhibition of golf. Miss Gould (Otago) was in capital form, showing great superiority to Alias Bull. For the second time Mrs. Turnbull had to go to the l!>th hole before she could claim a victory. Mrs. Williams, although somewhat below her form of a few seasons ago, proved too strong for Mrs. Booth, the Master,ton player, drat will have a big task on Wednesday to defeat Miss Wray, of Masterton, who has been showing the most brilliant play in all departments of the game. Mrs. Onbell (North Otago) was seen to great advantage ia her game with Miss E. Pierce. A great, deal of interest will centre in the meeting between Miss A. Pearce and Mrs. Orbell. Both are fine drivers, | and are very correct in the .short game. Opinions are divided as to who wili win, hut it will be certain to be a most determined struggle. Miss Collins is rapidly coming into form after her -voyage from -England. The champion was very short of practice, and played badly. She was lucky not to be drawn against any- of the cracks, ami may reach the finals. The game between Miss Wood (Christchurch) and Mrs. Hevan (Otaki) was one of the best battles of the second round, the southern player just getting it by 1 up. The meeting is being splendidly managed, the good work by Miss Duncan (Wellington) captain, and i Mi«s G. Ewen, secretary, coming in for ! very -warm praise. Results:—

IMrs. Tunibull beat Misis Brewster, 1 up at the 10th hole. Mrs. Collins beat Miss Ledger, 2 up. .'.Miss Could beat Miss Bull, 8 up and 7. Mis-! Dorothy Bootli beat Miss R. Bucklaiid, 0 up and 5. Miss Blandish beat Miss Simpson. 2 HP and 1. Miss U. Booth beat Miss McLean. 2 up and 1. Miss \V. Cotter beat Mrs. Abraham, (i up and ii. MEETING OF DELEGATES.

Wellington, Last Night. The annual meeting of del egatcs from clubs affiliated to the Ladies' Golf Union (New Zealand .branch) was. held to-day. Mrs. A. Penrce was elected to the chair. The report and balance-sheet were read ami accepted. The accounts show a balance of C2O 10s !>d. A motion by Mrs. Kelly (Napier) that the clubs affiliated to the union should not play matches against those not affiliated, was negatived. Mrs. Kelly (Napier) proposed, and Miss Williams (Otago) seconded, that no player must play for more than one club in inter-club mate lies during any one season.—Carried unanimously. A proposal that in future three championship meetings should be held in the North Island and two in the South Island was discussed. Miss Duncan proposed an amendment that the list of. chubs suitable for championship meetings should be made and each club taken in rotation.—These wot all allowed to lapse for discussion next year.

Uniform rules for bogey play were adopted. The next competiliou for the Coronation medal was fixed for the last Friday iu April. l!ll 2.

■Miss Rattray was re-elected president of the union. The following vice-presi-dents were re-elected: Me-danies l!|;>omlield, IVaree. Kelly. Slurp. Vernon, Buttenvnrth. Misses Moure and Stevenson. Mrs. Melleop was unanimously re-elected lion, secretary. The next championship meeting will be held at Nelson in 1012.
