OTAGO v. WELLINGTON. AX EXCITING GAME. ' By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, Last Night. 'Otago and Wellington met in glorious weather to-day in the presence of six thousand people. The game was easily the most exciting of the several interprovincial fixtures played here this season. and, contrary to expectations, it ended in a draw. Wellington opened sensationally, tries being scored by McKenzie and Ryan in .the first five minutes. Thereafter Otago asserted themselves, and tiie forwards, in smashing rushes, dominated the play for practically the whole of the spell. From a short rush a try was scored by Symonds and converted by Norrie, and Scott brought off a sensational potted goal from the lino at long range. The spell thus closed with the scores, Otago 9, Wellington (5. The second spell easily favored Wellington. The visiting forwards played splendid football. Otago had several vcrv anxious moments, but the quick spoiling methods of their forwards and Scott's magnificent defensive play kept them at bay, and the home team escaped with one additional try registered against them. This was scored by Grace, "out not converted.
