Seventeen members of the Westhouse's Locomotive Society at Erewash Valley have been expelled from the union because they were loyal to the Midland Company during the recent strike. The Collie Miners' Association was fined £IBO in connection with the recent strike. THE LITIIGOW DISPUTE. Sydney, September 30. Mr. ('armicliael. after an interview with both sides in the Lithgow dispute, stated that the parties are determined to abide by the positions taken up. So far he had been unable to find any common ground whereon an arrangement was basable, but he had not given up hope.
