THE HUTCH EX'S CONCERT KKCITALsj In order that the concert-goers of New Zealand may have an opportunity of' hearing Mr. Frank Hutchens under the/ most favorable conditions, arrangements have been made with Messrs Bechstein, of London, to supply, through their New Zealand agents (the British and Continental Piano Co.) a Bechstein grand piano for the young pianist's tour. With such an artist, and such an instrument, tho audience are assured of a performance that will delight even the most critical. The Cornish Telegraph, referring to Mr. Hutchens, says: "Frank Hutchens delighted the good audience that assembled at St. John's Hall oil Wednesday night. The young musical genius showed himself to be possessed of wonderful toiich and expression, combined with excellent technique. Poldini's 'Etudes de Concert' were played with much earnestness and spirit, and with the complete success that one might expect from a past master." We hope that the young New Zealander will have such an audience on Monday night as will falsify (so far as New Plymouth is concerned) the proverb that " a prophet hath no honor in his own country." With two such singers as Mr. Will Hutehenn and Miss Ethel Carter, a first-clans concert is assured, and we advise intending patrons to book early at the British and Continental Piano Co. (Hoffmann's).
