A CLOUD-BURST AT BEXDIGO. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Melbourne, September 28. A cloud-burst, accompanied by a fieroo gate, did severe damage at Bondigo. Though only a small area was affected, a number of buildings were wrecked and people and debris swept considerable distances. Jordan, a farmer, was seriously injured owing to his house collapsing. STOLEN COMMUNION PLATE. Melbourne, September 28. The silver communion service presented by Sir William Clarke t» Sunbury Church, which was stolen seven years ago, has been found buried under a tree. It was unearthed by rain. PROTECTOR OF NATIVES. Sydney, September 28. Professor Spencer has been appointed protector of the aborigines in the Northern Territory. SENTENCE FOR MANSLAUGHTER. Sydney, September 28. Thomas Riley, who quarrelled with and shot his brother, has been convicted for the manslaughter of his brother at Knrriculi on June 25, and was sentenced to two years' imprisonment. ANOTHER SYDNEY THEATRE. Sydney, September 28. 'Another largo theatre is projected for Sydney. The Lord Mayor recommended tire City Council to accept William Anderson's proposal to transform portion of Victoria Markets into a theatre.
