A I'ROIIIUmoX VICTORY. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auekland. Last Night. The first announcement by .the Press Association cable in regard to the result of the voting in liable on the subject of prohibition .gave a slight majority in favor of the retention of the la.w. A cable received by the Provincial Council of the Trade stinted that there wis a majority of 2(1 in fa.vor of repeal. The. New Zealand Alliance has now received the following ea.ble in response to an inquiry: ".Maine prohibition victory."
