THE COMPETITIVE DESIGNS. ADJUDICATOR'S AWARDS. By Telegraph—Prees Association. Wellington, Last Night. The report of Colonel Vernon, adjudicator of the competitive designs for the new Parliament House, wets submitted to a committee of both Houses to-day. The adjudicator's award of the prizes was as follows: First prize (€1000): John Campbell (Government architect) and Claud Paton (Wellington); second (£500), Thos.. TuTivbuU and Son and J. S. Seddom; third (£300), W. 11. Gunner (Auckland); fourth (£200); John Campbell and Chas. A. Lawrence (Wellington); fifth, George A. Troup and Roy Young (Wellington); sixth, IT. S. Morran and R. A. Owen (Auckland); seventh, C. Crierson (Auckland); eighth, Hurst, Seager and Hart (Christehurch); ninth, Fleming McDonald and W. Dunning (Dunedin).' Other competitors without relation to relative positions- were:—A. D. Spiers (Pieton). I!.. L. Loweish (Auckland), Blake and Bcnnie (Wellington), Beers and Greenish (Wellington), G. A. Troup and Gray Young (Wellington); W. N. Page (Wellington), Troup, Young, and Geo. RoWi (Wellington), L. D. Coombs (Dunedin), F. W. Petre (Dunedin), D. Murray Kean (Wellington), L. Mitchell and Co. (Wellington), D. B. Patterson (Auckland).!). Houlker. jun. (Nelson); Oharlcsworth and Calthider (Wellington), G. West, and Son (Palmerston North), G. G. Schwartz (Wellington), B. J. Ager (Christehurch), O'Connor and Bantley (Auckland), Salmond and Vane (Dunedin), E. Ksronibe (Dunedin), J. C. Maddison (Christehurch). No. 2 design.—O. A. Jorgcnson (Palmerston North), J. Charlesworthy (Wellington). Sir Joseph Ward stated that Cabinet would go through all the designs. Members would also have the opportunity of Tiewing them. If in the opinion of Cabinet the first prize design was the ■best for the building, the Government would recommend it.
