Mr. Jennings will ask the Minister of Lands in the House to-day whether he will ascertain from the Taranaki l.nnd Bottrd when it is proposed to throw open for selection a Wge .block of Crown land in the Waitaanga district? This block of land runs eight miles aJong the Tongaporutu-Mangaroa road and from the Waitaanga river to within six miles of Mangaroa (Ohuifl). The land » suitable for dairying purposes, and, now the road track is completed, there ran.. be no great reason urged against the land being thrown open for occupation. Also that there be laid before the Hoiu<e a return showing the names of civil mtviants in the different departments who have received extended leave of absence during the last three years, and the sailary they received during such extended leaveMr. Okey hag given notice to move in the House that a, return be presented showing the amount of revenue received from the totnlisnvor tax for the last five years, the return to show iho amount received last year.
