Smith punctured his tyre when he had gone five miles from (loiiihnrn. •Kirkliam's was the fastest time, namely, olir< lilmin 3lsc( —a record for the distance. A hundred and twenly-seven started. Won by four minutes. Retime has done considerable riding in New Zealand.
