NOLAN & OO.'S REPORT. L. A. Nolan & Co. report for the week ending September 21, as follows: Poultry.—On Saturday we had an extra large entry, nil pens being filled. There wasi keen demand all through, prices showing a good advance. We (|uote:—Hens Is Od to 2s 4d. cockerels 2s Id to 2s Sd, roosters Is 7d to 2s (kl, ducks 2s to 2s 3d, ducklings 7d to Is' Id, turkey heas (is (kl to 7s Od, gobblers 10s. In the mart we disposed of the usual furniture and plant at satisfactory prices.
Fruit.—The market' is firm, all lines offering meeting with keen competition. The high prices realised last week for Nelson apples resulted in large consignments coming to hand this week. Prices realised were very satisfactory. Sydney fruit was also in demand and sold well. AVe quote: Apples, Nelson Beauty 14s 3d to 14s 9d, Stunners A Us Od, IS 13s !)d, Washingtons lis to lis, Sydney oranges 8s 9d to 9s 3d, mandarins 7s 9d to 9s 3d, pineapples 12s Od. Land. —We have to report the sale of several sections at Moturoa on account of T. C. Kelsey estate. Persons looking for a good sound investment would do well to give these sections their attention.
WEBSTER BROS.' REPORT. Messrs. Webster Bros, report as follows: , Poultry.—At the mart on Saturday we had a fair entry of all classes, prices realised being very satisfactory. We quote: Hens, old Is Od to Is 9d, young 2s to 2s 6d, cockerels 2s to 2s 3d, ducks 2s to 2s, 3d,' bantams Is 9d, trio White Leghorns 15s, trio bantams 0s Od, •Fruit trees, shrubs and sundries sold at usual rates.
Furniture. —On Wedonesday, on account of Mr. G. A. Thomson, we held a clearing sale of all his furniture and effects of the Jubilee Villa. Bidding was spirited throughout, and prices were very satisfactory. Fruit.—This has been in fair supply during the week, and prices are still high. Bananas, ripe 2%d per lb., green 13s to 13e 3d; Sydney oranges, 8s 6d; mandarins 10s 6d; apples, Tasmanian Stunners 14s; lemons (is Od case, according to size.
LOCAL MARKETS. Butchers' Meat. Beef: Sirloin, 6d; prime Tibs, fid; rump steak, Sd; beef from 3d to 6d; corned beef, 4d and §d,. Mutton: Legs 6d; chops, Gd; loin, 6d; shoulders, 5d per lb; necks, 3d. Veal, 3d to 5d per lb. Sausages: Beef, sd, pork Bd. Lamb: Lege, 6d; forequarters, 4s 6d; hindquarters, 5s Gd. Pork: Fresh, 6d per lb. Fowls, 6s to 6s per pair; ducks, 6s per pair. Dripping, 6d per lb. These prices are for cash only; %d per lb. for booking over cash prices charged by New Plymouth one week.
