OPPOSITION GROWING. By Cable—Press Association —Copyright London, September 20. The campaign of the Rev. J. B. Meyer is gathering force. There arc columns of protesting letters in the newspapers. Mr. Meyers visited the Home Office to discuss the matter with Mr. Churchill. An infiuentially signed memorial is being prepared. The Bishop of London has joined the agitation.
CINEMATOGRAPH PICTURES. Capetown, September 20. The South African News states that it appears that tJhe Government will prohibit the importation of cinematograph pictures of the Johnson-Wells fight, fearing it will affect the natives' minds.
IN DEFENCE OF THE FIGHT. Received 21, 10.15 p.m. London, September 21. , The executive of the Boxers' Union and Athletic. Registered Trades Union denounces the attack on the JohnsonWells fight, and appeals for the support of trades- unions to counteract the agitation against the sport from which they derive a livelihood. The executive praised the lexers' moral qualities, through the sport compelling tJiem to eschew vices.
