WANGANUI SESSIONS.
By Telegraph—Press Association, Wanganni, Last Night. The Supreme Court sessions were commenced! this morning before Mr. Justice Edwards. An elderly man named! Wheelan was found guilty of using indecent and profane language. Sentence was deferred. , There is only one other criminal case which is now proceeding. Mr. Justice Edwards congratulated the district on the lightness of the calendar. GREYMOUTH SESSIONS. Greymouth, Last Night. The libel action, A. C. Russell (Mayor v. the Grey River Argus Company, Ltd., was heard in the Supreme Court to-day. Plaintiff claimed £IOOO damages. There were four counts. The jury returned a verdict in favor of defendant on two counts, and for the plaintiff for one shilling in one count, and for £lO in the other case. In the case, Ellison v. the Despatch Foundry, a claim for £IOOO damages compensation for the death of plaintiff's son by accident while employed by defendant company, Mr. Egan, on behalf of plaintiff, agreed to accept £4OO, Judgment was entered for that amount accordingly.
