THE ASSAILANT CAPTURED. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. New York, September 17. Edward Davies, the assailant of the Manitoba school teacher, has been arrested at Hannah, North Dakota. He is alleged to be a noted convict who escaped from prison years ago, when be killed several guards.

The disappearance of a school teacher named Miss lirice, a relative of Mr Roblin, Premier of Manitoba, started a hue and cry along the trail left by the supposed murderer from the scboolhonse to a gully a mile distant. The body was not found, and the whole neighborhood took part in a search, with the result that the girl was found at last wandering over a prairie. She had been captured by a ruffian, kept all night on the prairie, and repeatedly beaten.
