In reference to the cabled statement tlml a lejif of Captain Cook's diary, recently sold a't. auction in London, was to be offered to the Commonwealth for £o(10, Mr. Fisher states that he thinks 10.00 is too much to pay. and says that the Commonwealth is not likely to sanction the expenditure. A facsimile of the missing page was secured some years ago. and is in the possession of the Commonwealth.
