Eruption of Mt. Etna
16 CRATERS BELCHING FIRE. DESTRUCTION TO VINEYARDS AND COTTAGES. INHABITANTS PANIC-STRICKEN. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Rome, September 13. The eruption of Etna is a grander spectacle than that of 1910. Sixteen craters are belching fire and smoke and two lower craters pouring out lava, which is travelling four hundred yards hourly and ravaging vineyards and destroying cottages. The pine forests are burning fiercely. Incessant earthquakes are taking place, accompanied by noises like bombs exploding. The inhabitants, panic-stricken, •re leeking safety in the plains.
