List week the Nihouiho 1 dairy factory, situate in the King Country, was noticed to be on fire, says the Te Kuiti correspondent of tho Auckland ljerald, but fortunately two settlers who were passing were able to put. out the flames, which had damaged the books of the A. and .P. Association. At an inquiry held l at Nihouiho, before Mr. I. Hume* J.P., and a jury, a verdict was returned to tho effect that the place was wilfully set on lire by some person or persons unknown, but that the destruction of the books after the tire, and the removal of the desk from the office by C. Canneron, constituted a: suspicious circumstance. After the enquiry Cameron was arrested and clwrged with arson, lie was remanded'. Cameron, who was the mansiei>.r of tllo factory, and also secretary ofsuie A. and P. Association, was chaiged .if-lhe Police Court, Mnitero, on Wednesday, with arson. The case was dismissed. ' Cameron is well known' in T n >'maki, having been -factor)' nwnajrer at Ta.rata for some years, which ;io-,ition he resigned in order to take up this present appointment.
