Tin; Budget ford!H'2 shows a deficit of seven million sterling, including two and a-half millions due to social legislation and one and a-half to national defenee. The deficit will be made up by a duty on gas and electric light burners anil the readjustment of certain taxes. Cabinet ,approved of communes participating in the enterprises of co-operative butchers and bakers, and sanctioned facilities for the importation of colonial cattle, t'he revision of the prohibition against certain classes of foreign cattle, the extension of refrigerating establishments, and restriction of forage exportation. It also endorsed M. Caillaux's scheme of cheap housing to combat excessive rents. , -JS-g !
