The submarine Al, employed in experimental lifting tests at Portsmouth, was carried out of its course. It is imposs.:lble to locate the vessel, and it is regarded as lost. There was no crew aboard. A FATAL FIRE. Received fi, 12.30 a.m. New York, September 5. Fire destroyed a hotel and boardinghouse at Juneau. Alaska. Nine persons were burned to death. Four bodies have been recovered.
