(Fn in Our Own Correspondents). INGLEYVOOD. An alarm of fire was given on Sunday evening about 8.30, when the residence of Mr. Collinwood was discovered by, some neighbors to be on fire. The ownei is at present away on a visit to the Old Country. The Kev. Mr. Gatman, Primitive Methodist minister, is living in the house. It appears that this gentleman had a fire in a dining-room previous to going out to one of the outlying places to conduct service, and, as a precaution, left a. piece of iron in front of the fire. However, by some means or another the place got alight. Messrs. Jones, Fawcett and J. laylor effected an entrance, and at once got to work on the flames so successfully that when the .brigade arrived the fire was practically out. Considerable damage was done to the furniture in the room, but, fortunately, the fire did not have time to spread to the rest of the house. The leader of the lire brigade would like to ask any person who goes to the bell to give an alarm of fire, to give plenty of ''ring," as on this occasion, several of the brigade did not hear the bell, and so were noi on hand at the station. The Boy Scouts are having a despatchcarrying contest on Thursday next. Five Scouts under the orders of Scout Sid. Quickfall will attempt to get a despatch I through to the electric power house. The j surrounding country will he held by the ' rest 5 of the troop, under command of Pati-ol Leader Raymond Macßeth. Anyone who would like to be "in at the deat,h" is invited to be in the vicinity of the power house about 5 o'clock. WAREA.
