From Noumea comes the hews that the French barque Roehambcnii, from Glasgow to Tchio, coal laden, went ashore on the 'Maine reof, on the east, coast of New Caledonia, on August 31. She is in a critical position and almost full of water. One seaman w;is drowned and the remainder were rescued by the French cruiser Kersaint.
