INCOMPARABLE AUSTRALIA
NEW SOUTH WALES PREMIER BACK FROM ENGLAND. By Cable—Press Association—Copyright. Brisbane, September 4. Mr. McCowen returned by the Zealandia. He declined to discuss New South Wales politics. He was most favorably impressed by what he saw of England, but no place on Cod's earth could compare with Australia, because of her freedom, sunshine, nnd opportunities. He was shocked at what lie saw in the United States and Canada. They were sowing the seeds of the whirlwind and allowing themselves to become- the dumping-ground of the fieum of the earth. Australia was wiser in her generation and was keeping the race pure. MR. McOOWEN LEAIIXS SOMETHING. Received 4, 11.10 p.m. Sydney, September 4. Mr. McOowen was warmly welcomed by his colleagues and a large gathering. The Premier said Britain was a greater country than he imagined it to be. The contrasts between the two extremes of wealth and poverty were not so great or acute as he expected from what he had read.
