i 4 SUMMARY AND FORECAST. ' By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. Following is the Government Meteorologist's weather summary and forecast: —Northerly and westerly winds have prevailed, and gales 1 in the Foveaux Strait on Saturday and Sunday, but the winds are more variable and moderated today. Considerable rain has fallen on the West Coast of the South Island, and fair to cloudy weather, with warmer conditions, have prevailed generally. Present indications are for moderate to strong easterly winds northward of Hokitika and Kaikoura, and northerly and westerly breezes elsewhere. The barometer has a falling tendency and hazy and unsettled conditions are to be expected at times in most parts of the country.
