PROPERTY SALE
We desire to draw the attention of our readers to a very important sale ol land: advertised in this issue toy L. A. Nolan and Co. This firm have been instructed by the trustees in the estate of T. 0. Kelsey to offer the whole of these properties for sale by auction on Wednesday, September 13, at 7.30 p.m., in the Brougham Street Hall. The sale is held in the evening for the benefit of those who may be interested and yet be unable to attend during working hours. It is anticipated that this sale will evoke keen competition, as it is generally felt that New Plymouth, and therefore its surroundings, is sure to go ahead by leaps and bounds. Everything points in this direction: The Taranaki Petroleum Company has completed its sale, and none can really gauge what the effect of exploitation of the field is going to be. It is being conceded more generally every week that our harbor is almost an accomplished fact. Those who should know assert that ironworks will be started shortly. Oilworks, ironworks and harbor, all 1 coming into operation about the same time, must give our town an impetus, and it behoves everyone with only even a small amount to invest to get busy so as to participate in the rise which must, in consequence of the foregoing, surely come. Many millionaires have started with. £lO invested in real estate.
The Devon street property is splendidly situated in the heart of the town, and has up-to-date and new buildings on it. The Gill street section is in a Splendid position, situated close to the railway station, and is what will be the manufacturing and warehouse street. The Vivian street house property is practically in the centre of the town anl yet away from the noise and dirt. The Port Moturoa sections to be offers! ;iic in a splendid iii<_')] position, close to the oil wells and harbor. All are splendid building sites, and the majority- level. The auctioneers' state that all the sections are to be flagged off so as to enable intending buyer# to pick up th' 1 pegs without trouble.
It is hardly necessary to remind the public of the importance of this sale, as a bit of land is often a start on the way to making a fortune, and that in any case land cannot run away.
