Both Pearces were beaten in the fourth round of the Irish golf championship. -Scott qualified for the fifth. THE MANAWATU TOURNAMENT. By Telegraph—Press Association. Palmerston North, Last Night. The Mtinawatu golf tournament was concluded to-day in a high wind. In the semi-linals of the championship Arthur Duncan beat Kapi Tarcha, 3 up and 2; Duncan beat ,J. C. Bidwell, 2 up and I'. The final was a great struggle between Arthur and Ken Duncan, which the former won by 2 up and 1. The bogey match was won by L. Seifert (4), 1 i':> and 4, and the ball match by P. ai:d X. Seifert, 75—11—64.
IX! iLEWOOD ( lIAMPIOXSIIIP. The final for the championship of the Inglcn ood Golf Club was played at Inglewood yesterday between Geo. Gudgeon anil H. J. M. Tliompson. In all 3fi huh s were played, 18 in the morning and IS in the afternoon. At the turn in the morning round Thompson was 2 up. but at the conclusion Gudgeon was 3 up. In the afternoon Gudgeon opened very badly, and turned 4 down. The first of the final nine holes was halved, andi the second went to Thompson, who, with seven holes to play, was fl up. Gudgeon here asserted himself, and won the next five holes, play being all square with two holes to play. The next hole was halved, and the final alsol looked as if it would he halved, but Thompson missed a short putt, and the hole, and with it the championship, which went to Gudgeon.
