THE WEATHER.
SUMMARY AND FORECAST. By Telegraph —Press Association. The Meteorological Office has issued the following weather summary and forecast:—JThe barometer has risen in the north, and Mien in the southern districts, therehy increasing the gradient and accounting for the increasing westerty winds. The weather is fair in the north, but stormy and unsettled in the south. Present indications* are for high westerly winds generally, especially in Cook and Foveaux straits. The winds will probably veer to southerly shortly in the south. Stormy and showery weather is expected on all the western coast and southernmost districts, and changeable weather generally. ric pressure is unsteady in the southern districts, but will probably rise steadily in twenty-four hours.
