A NIASTERTON MYSTERY.
YOUXC MAN'S STRAXGE DISAPPEARANCE. By Telegraph—Press Association. Masterton, Yesterday. Tke police are still conducting 'an active investigation into the whereabouts of the young man .las. Kingdon. He has been missing for over a month, but so far there has been no solution of the. mystery. A close examination of the graves in the cemetery failed to reveal any indication of interference. Yesterday a startling report gained currency to the effect that an arrest had been made of a man, not one of Kingdon's companions, who on the night he disappeared had confessed to shooting Kingdon and of burying his body on the banks of the Waipoua belqw the cemetery. The police deny the arrest, but are very reticent. They say that Kingdon will turn up all right.
