NORTH TARANAKI HUNT

The annual race meeting of the North i Taranaki Hunt will take place on the New Plymouth racecourse by the kind | permission of the Taranaki Jockey Club next Thursday, the 31st inst. If the . weather keeps fine, as it now gives promise of doing, a very enjoyable day's ' sport should result. Hunting is a sport which deserves the support, of everybody, as it is a clean sport, and one |[which improves the breed of the class of , horses that would be invaluable to this '■'iiiMiry if it should so happen that we should be called upon to defend ourselves against a foreign nation. The , members of the North Taranaki Hunt deserve great credit for the efforts they , are making to keep hunting going in , this district, and as they depend to a very great extent on their race meeting , to assist them financially it is to be 1 '. hoped that there will be a large at- ( tendance of the public at the races on .
