RIFLE SHOOTING.

The Taranaki Rifles fired the final match for the company's championship on Saturday afternoon. There was a fairly good light for shooting, but a very tricky wind, ivarying in strength, made it very difficult to maintain either elevation or direction. The ranges wore 800, 900 and 1000 yards. Lieut. Marett was top scorer for the day with 91, a good score under the conditions, Lieut. Willis and Private Marett following with 89 each. Lieut. Willis won the championship.
