Tom Burrows broke the club-swinging record in a decisive manner, swinging continuously for 98 hours 50 minutes. The previous record was 82 hours 17 minutes, also by Burrows. He attempted 100 hours, but had to be stopped, because, during a fit of mental aberration, he attacked one of the attendants. The clubs had to be forced from him. STATE PREMIERS' CONFERENCE. A conference of gas employers and employees has concluded, and resulted in all-round increases for the men.
