FEUD FIGHT IN CHURCH.

THREE FATALLY WOUNDED. New York, duly 2. Three persons were fatally wounded and two others hurt as a result of a battle to-day at Paint Creek Church, nine miles from Williamsburg, Ky., between the Calamore brothers and the Swain brothers. Whitley County is thoroughly aroused over the affair, and as both sides have many friends it is feared that the trouble has just begun. The recovery of the combatants is doubtful.

Services were in progress when the Swain brothers arrived at the church. The (lalaniiire brothers were in the. churchyard preparing to enter the building when weapons .were drawn and tiring began. Two (ialamores fell at the first volley, and William Swain fell also. All of thp worshippers poured forth from the church, and it was feared that a general light would take place, but cooler heads prevented this, and the three uninjured Swains surrendered. Bad blood has existed between the families for a long time. Paint Creek is in the most mountainous part of Whitley county, which is in the Rig Sandy Valley, only a. few miles from the Tennesse line." The (lalamores all served in the Spanish-American war. The authorities are preparing to protect the Swains.
