NORTH BRUNNER COAL MINE
CLOSING DOWN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Greymouth, Saturday. The North Brunner coal mine is about to close down; hence many men will be thrown out of employment. The Mayor of Brunner this morning wired Sir. Arthur Guinness to intercede with the Government to open the Wallsend mine, or render assistance to enable the residents to open it for work. The news re closing the mine was unexpected so soon, though rumors to that effect have gained circulation lately.
